Pediatric Orthopedics
While simple and complex bone fractures are the most common occurrences during these highly active years, Overland Park Orthopedics is prepared to treat all pediatric orthopaedic problems, both surgical and non-surgical. These include developmental disorders of the hip and foot, correction of angular limb deformities and limb lengthening, scoliosis, and care of the pediatric and adolescent trauma patient.
As children continue to be involved in athletics, particularly in their adolescent years, the practice of Sports Medicine plays an important role in pediatric and adolescent orthopaedics. Our sports medicine physician has specific training and experience in the care of the younger athlete including high school football players, soccer players, swimmers, and elite gymnasts. Treatment may include shoulder surgery, knee arthroscopy, and ACL reconstruction.
The goal is to repair the injury first, then strengthen through rehabilitation, and finally, return the athlete to his or her respective sport. If you are suffering from severe joint pain, we welcome you to investigate along with us whether or not this particular operation is appropriate for your own situation.
